Outstanding Service from Start to Finish

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The property was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, and the staff consistently went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.
A special thank you to William and Thinza, who truly made my stay memorable. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine hospitality stood out from the moment I arrived. They were always approachable, attentive, and eager to help with anything I needed, making me feel like a valued guest throughout my stay.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service and a relaxing stay, and I look forward to returning in the future.

The only place to stay in Yangon

I'm going to take a big call here and say the Strand is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.
The building is historic but beautifully renovated, with big suites with all amenities, including nightly turndown service. The pool is beautiful, the gym a good size, and location is in the heart of the historical centre of Yangon.
Best of all, the service is top notch - I was greeted at the door by the operations manager, and the hotel manager spoke to me several times during my stay. And the reception staff were absolutely lovely, warm and helpful.
Special thanks to front reception staff Ellie and William, to Hotel Manager Thurzar and to the Operations Manager, all of whom made my stay special.
I'm already planning a return trip.

A delightful lunch experience at The Strand Hotel, Yangon.

A beautiful, elegant, and historic hotel. We had a delicious lunch at the restaurant, enjoying a special Burmese menu created by the chef.
A special thank you to our two magnificent young waiters, Ponami Nyunt and Ethan, who were polite, kind, always smiling, and provided impeccable service.

Breakfast at The Strand Cafe

The moment I stepped into the cafe, it feels like I’ve traveled back in time. The interior designing is very much influenced by The British Colonial Era since the hotel was built in 1901. The servers are very polite and lovely like Ms. Nwaye who greeted us warmly. Although It’s not a buffet where you have to go and get your own food, they have various options on the menu that you can order as many as you please, from European to Burmese food. All the dishes are prepared with care and tastes exceptional. It’s the perfect choice for people who enjoy dining in a tranquil atmosphere.

Historic charm plus sweet friendly people

I’ve been travelling a lot this year and The Strand is my favourite so far. Not only because of the old charm of the building, but that the staff here are all super sweet and friendly. Food at The Strand is a great delight, and they even prepared a cake for me on my birthday :) Special thanks to Thant Zin Aung for making the effort to wish me happy birthday in Chinese and being so attentive and helpful during every breakfast when I couldn’t help but overeat… I’ve also got many useful recommendations on galleries and other local spots from the reception and I really appreciate them. For anyone who’d like to visit Yangon and enjoy historic buildings, I’d highly recommend The Strand! :)
