I'll come back soon

If you are looking for comfort it is not for you but if you are looking for Bowles, Borroughs, Williams, Genet it is perfect! In this hotel time has stopped, it feels like taking a leap into the past. From the reception to the rooms to the spectacular terrace, everything is magical. For the record, I must write that the toilet is shared with other guests but in the rooms there is still a bathroom with bidet, shower and sink. The terrace offers breathtaking sunrises and sunsets and is accessible to all guests but rooms 7 and 8 enjoy the privilege of overlooking it. The structure is obviously dated and this is what makes it fascinating, the furnishings are romantically retro and minimalistic but the bed is very comfortable and CLEAN. The all-female staff is welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. I loved every minute spent here. I will be back soon!

ATTENTION BED BUGS / WARNING BED BUGS

ATTENTION BED BUGS / WARNING BED BUGS
We booked 3 nights from 24 to 27 February, we were given room 8. The day after the first night, I discover online bites characteristic of bedbugs on my hand, and a bedbug on the floor. I showed the bites and the bug to the manager and explained that we were going to leave immediately and that I wanted to be reimbursed for the last 2 nights.
She denied the fact that there were any bugs, saying that there never were in the hotel which seems wrong considering other comments. She asked me to go through Booking to cancel the reservation. The site was not working, which I explained to her and she refused other refund solutions.

Stay away

The only good thing about the room is that it gets sunlight and sees a little bit of the sea.
I don't know where to start listing the bad parts.
I had previously written to the hotel and asked if there was a bathroom and toilet in the room. They said definitely there is. The first night we went, they gave us a room without a toilet, that is, with a shared toilet outside the room, at the end of the corridor, and told us that we could move to another room the next day. The other room they suggested had a toilet, but it was facing the wall of the next building. I didn't pay attention to that, but since the room was newly painted, the smell of paint was unbearable. It was impossible for me to stay there due to my health problems and I preferred to stay in the first room. It was also newly painted, but it smelled less because it had been ventilated. Even though I made a reservation for two people, a single towel was provided. I complained that there was no soap in the bathroom, and the woman there bowed her head because there was no soap. I bought my own soap from the market and used it. At the end of the fifth day, spare towels and soap were placed.
Loud music was coming from the bar downstairs of the building until 1 am. The floor of the room we were in was vibrating.
There was no one else staying in the hotel other than us. We stayed in a place that was completely under construction. The workers were staying in the room opposite us. We couldn't sleep because they left the lights on at night and they were making noise. I also think they use recreational drugs. Since we don't even smoke, the smell bothered us. In the morning, we woke up with a loud noise as they were dragging our belongings left and right. Also, as seen in the photos, there were cupboards and construction materials in the corridor. It was very difficult for us to go to the toilet at night.
The flooring stones in our room were also broken and moving.
The business owners were very insincere.
Since the hotel was paid in advance and the people in front of me did not speak English, I did not want to get into an argument. Changing hotels at the last minute was not suitable for both my budget and my psychology. Otherwise, I wanted to go somewhere else that night. I was very nervous.
This hotel doesn't even deserve 1 star.

Hotel with a little history

A quaint hotel located along the hills of Tangier. It may be a bit of an exercise to get there, but you will be rewarded with a nice view overlooking the waterfront. The hotel is more like a 2-star hotel with basic amenities. The staff aren’t always attentive but there were no major issues. The top floor (3rd) offers access to the rooftop with a nice view where you can enjoy the sunrise view. They have a bar next door that used to be frequented by William Burroughs and other beat generation writers.
The hotel is known to be William Burroughs’s former residence when writing “Naked Lunch,” and popular among his fans traveling to the area. Other than that, there’s particularly nothing much about the place.

Good value good location but night noise from bar till 0100

Good location just three minutes uphill to Main Street all the food and shops. 20 mins walk to the medina. Good value and staff welcoming. They give you a main door key. There is a bar playing beat music so it’s hard to get to sleep until 1am as the beat is loud …..no good for light sleepers. I have no idea why it has to be so loud as it’s heard throughout the hotel. Not good!Currently two construction sites near hotel so some noise during day hours.
