unique!
Small family hotel as there are no more close to Saintes station. Cheap, very simple, charming, quiet and clean. An accommodating boss and especially a beautiful garden in self-service where it is very nice to rest on a deck chair, eat... and where we met a colorful year-round tenant who largely replaces the absence of TV in the room! This hotel will close soon due to retirement and we will regret it!

Unsavory
If you like cleanliness, it’s not the ideal place, everything is dirty and the smell is not talking about it... the keeper herself is not clear, who allows herself to go into the room when you’re away (and not to clean) is frankly unpleasant
The bedding is uncomfortable, construction shower in the middle of the room, everything is filthy, stained curtains, hair lying around, sheep....
Finally we did not close our eyes in this "hotel" which has only the name
Even the price in no way justifies this lack of cleanliness and dilapidated

"Hotel" to avoid
“Hotel”, you may need to review the name of your establishment. Old place, unbearable smell, dirty room, common toilet for 9 rooms. More than worn bedding. Serious lack of cleanliness (dust, hair in the bathroom, used handkerchief under the bed, sticky floor and table, tapestry coming loose, moisture stains on the ceiling, stained bath towels)
Also the owner allows herself to go back into our room when we are not there.

some charm
Small, very simple, pleasant hotel, a little old-fashioned, which we liked. The owner is very welcoming and accommodating (she welcomed us late well after the scheduled time (SNCF delay), she also kept our luggage after we left the room so that we could visit the city without being crowded. Thank you. Room Clean, quiet hotel, 2 steps from the station. Very attractive price.

Lovely old fashioned hotel
Last here four years ago, so knew what to expect. I find the hotel charming. A shared lavatory and shower hence the price, but my room and bed were spotless and the hotel is a pitching wedge from Saintes station. The weather was hot but this old building coped much better than the modern hotel I stayed at in Bordeaux. The owner doesn't speak English but is such a nice person. If you're after a room with en-suite, TV, 'fridge etc. this isn't the hotel for you, but for character oh yes!
