Solid option
This is no luxury hotel to be clear (it is rated 2 star) but I would say it is a solid 2 stars - especially if you pay a rate that is heavily discounted compared to what is noted at reception (as I did - so worth asking). It is the highest building in the neighborhood so you will not miss it. Unfortunately, there is not much in terms of restaurants or shops around, especially when you apply western demands.
The reception was efficient and friendly, there is a working elevator, and the room was surprisingly large. It had been painted not too long ago but furniture was a bit worn. Still, there was everything you need: a comfortable bed (and certainly clean), a working aircon, chair and table, armchairs and table etc. The wifi was stable and reasonably fast. Also, there was always free mineral water. The bathroom was evidently not built by an experienced builder, the toilet lacked a seat and toilet paper first had to be asked for. But water pressure was good, there was hot water throughout the day/night and it was clean.
The restaurant offered very - and I really mean it - good food, both for breakfast (including real bread, not just baguettes and toast) and dinner. Actually some of the best food I have had in Yaoundé. Staff were very nice, and prices more than reasonable (for me, breakfast was included in the room rate).
