¡¡Timor Lodge is amazingly TERRIFIC‼️
It is quite close to the Presidential Nicolau Lobato International Airport, and has a large guarded compound that included a reception office/swimming pool/restaurant/basketball court/playing fields/meeting rooms. It is an hour away from downtown via taxi on congested roads, but the respite is well worth the travel, especially if you have a early morning flight on Air Timor (I was flying to KL 25APR2026).
I was able to secure a GREAT ground floor room via timorlodgehotel.com, and upon arrival was greeted by marvelous staff who thoroughly welcomed me, including arranging an early morning taxi to the airport. Fueling my body at the restaurant was wonderfully nutritious—reception made my breakfast voucher good to use in the evening since I was departing before the kitchen opened. After the much appreciated meal, I was able to add a refreshing dip in the adjacent pool. My rest was definitely needed, and I was delivered to the airport for my international flight by (05:00)—three hours before lift off is the recommended time. But the airport itself was still closed, opening up two hours before lift off. Likely the reason for the less time is because there is a very small TSA/xray machine for the official 2-jet airline.
I highly recommend this amazing overnightery; it has my coveted “iWheel of Approval!”

Great, spacious hotel with friendly professional staff
The bungalow rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is located next to a nice swimming pool; breakfasts (included in my booking) are quite tasty as are the pizzas, available for takeaway.
Service at all levels is efficient and friendly. Special thanks to the reception team who were extremely helpful in explaining different locations of interest in Dili, and also in helping me arrange travel outside the capital.
N.B. As of now, while bookings can be made in advance, all room, restaurant or other payments must be made in dollars at the hotel itself. Payment in advance or by credit card was not possible.
