good, clean, central value for money,spanish speaking
After leaving the coach station at 20:15 on last Sunday before xmas we were directed down the main drag to the centre. After a few hotels on the way we found this as the cheapest, not knowing it was in TA or guidebooks. Clean and cosy. We stayed in room 3, far left, with covered patio. Quiet overnight. WiFi good but petered out at 01:00ish. Usual morning noises in echoing lobby. WiFi patchy in room but eventually managed to voice Skype my mum for Xmas! Shower was hot tap only which took ages to feed through but OK in the end. Cold tap did not work but hot never hot enough to scald so get timing right. Never enough chairs for three sets of small rucksacks. Quiet fan. Ok number of coat hangers. Never used crt tv. One jug, no water, one glass for three. Soap and shampoo provided.
Overall great place and not pretentious. Staff were happy to help so no doubt quibbles could be resolved.

Great location and decent rooms
This place is about half way along the main road so well located to explore in both directions. Our room was very clean and comfortable and there was free drinking water so we were happy.
It is a hotel so not great for meeting fellow travelers but there aren't many of them in Tequila anyway, which is shame as Tequila is stunning and somewhere we'll definitely come back to!
You won't be disappointed staying here but you wouldn't write home about it either. Perfect if you just a nice, clean place to base yourself got some exploring.

Truly a little gem right down town
This hotel was delightful. Very clean, close to shopping, restaurants, museums, tours, front end staff had very little English but were still helpful. The room was small but very adequate as the price was so very reasonable. Our stay was for only one night of which we were most disappointed we weren't able to spend more time. Loved the town and want to go back and definitely will stay at this hotel again

A wonderful hotel in a wonderful town.
Our stay at the Agave was wonderful. Only one night, in retrospect I would change our itinerary to increase this, we loved Tequila as a whole. Staff friendly, full of holas, front desk helpful, but no English, but that is why we are in Mexico. No a/c, with ceiling fan used blankets at night. Location very convenient. Independent tours easy to set up, no pressure or sales tactics from desk. A great experience.

Lovely Little Hotel
We are glad we followed our friends' recommendation and tried Hotel Posada del Agave. It is clean and well cared-for. Our double bed was actually comfortable, not the more typical hard bed often found in small Mexican hotels. There are no frills--no coffee makers in rooms, for example, but good breakfast restaurants are a couple of blocks away on the square. (The location could not be more convenient.) The large bottled water dispenser out in the hall was a great idea. The staff quickly responded to the few requests we made, such as loaning us a two-prong to three-prong wall plug adapter so we could recharge our computer, and bringing us extra soap. There is no air conditioning, but each room has a good ceiling fan. It is some blocks to the covered parking included in the room cost, but we did not mind the walk.
