You can visit the catherdal and museum (mainly Roman remains) but our favourite place is the covered market of les Halles. It is open every morning but it is probably best to visit on Sunday as there is also an outdoor market selling all manner of things apart from food and drink because it is impossible to compete with Les Halles! Its also easier to park on Sunday.
Roman crossroads city of the Via Domitia & Via Aquitania. Lively Thursday outdoor market. Daily indoor market with dozens & dozens of stalls. The Cathédrale Saint-Just and downtown area is worth a visit.
For a taste of city life, Narbonne is well worth the visit. The magnificent Cathedral de St Jeanne is a must as is the indoor food market open until 1pm. There is an open market every Thursday which is fun to visit and there is an abundance of restaurants to tantalise your taste buds. Narbonne plage is a fantastic Mediterranean beach and very safe for swimming.
Narbonne Market has a variety of foods and restaurants. Narbonne pedestrian walking paths have little shops and cafes along the Canal du Midi. The square is busy if you like to people watch and the Cathedral is an example of 17th century architecture.
